Mogens Koch (1898-1992) was one of the most significant figures in Danish furniture design and architecture. A graduate of the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts School of Architecture in 1925 and later a professor there, he worked from the principles of functionalism. He created designs where simplicity, flexibility and craftsmanship were at the center, not as a personal artistic expression, but as a distillation of form to its pure essence. Each piece of furniture had to serve a clear purpose with understated elegance and longevity.
