In 1956, Børge Mogensen – already renowned as Fredericia’s founding designer and a guiding light in Modern Danish design – conceived the 3171 Bench. The 3171 Bench is the quiet sibling to Mogensen’s 3236 Chair: together they form part of the collection Mogensen designed shortly after his appointment at Fredericia. Where the 3236 expresses his refined yet rustic sensibility in a single-seated form, the 3171 Bench expands on those ideals, offering collective comfort without excess.
